About

One show became three.

Outside the Chapel started in 2019 as a single podcast with a single idea: take the Sunday readings out of the building and talk about them the way people actually talk. Fifteen seasons and several hundred episodes later, that idea had outgrown one feed.

The network

Why we split it up.

The flagship was doing too many jobs at once. Some weeks it was a reading reflection, some weeks a cultural argument, and some weeks it was two people in ministry being honest with each other about how hard the work is. All of it was worth doing, but none of it was getting the room it needed.

So the network exists to give each of those a proper home. Outside the Chapel goes back to what it does best, week in and week out. Homilies keeps it short for the people who just want the reading. Soul Fuel Cafe takes the culture conversations and gives them an hour and a research spine.

Different hosts, different rooms, one conviction underneath all of it: faith that only works inside the chapel is not much use on a Tuesday.

ICON Ministry

Every show on the network is produced by ICON Ministry, founded by Fr Rob Galea and based in the Diocese of Sandhurst, Victoria, Australia. ICON produces Sunday Mass, homilies, music, formation resources and this network, and gives them away.

How we work

What the network commits to.

  • 01

    Free, always

No paywall, no subscriber-only feed. If a show helps you, pass it on rather than paying for it.

  • 02

    Honest before tidy

We would rather leave a question open than close it badly. Faith holds up under real questions.

  • 03

    Sourced, not vibes

When a show makes a claim about the world, it cites where the claim came from.

  • 04

    Everywhere you listen

Every show goes out to every major platform. We are not trying to move your habits.
