Outside the Chapel

Every week, Fr Rob and the team sit down with the readings for the coming Sunday and the week people are actually having, and refuse to keep the two in separate rooms.

Outside the Chapel season 15 cover art: Alyssa Agius, Fr Rob Galea and Joshua Angrisano.

About the show

Fifteen seasons of the same stubborn question.

Outside the Chapel is where the network started. The format is simple and has barely changed: open the readings for the coming Sunday, then talk honestly about what they collide with. Work. Doubt. Grief. Family. The news. Whatever is sitting on people this week.

It is not a homily and it is not a study group. It is three people who take the readings seriously and take each other’s lives seriously, thinking out loud with the microphones on. If you have ever left Mass with the reading still rattling around, this is the conversation you were probably looking for.

New episodes land every Monday, so you have the week to sit with it before Sunday comes around.

Who you’re listening to.

A priest of the Diocese of Sandhurst, originally from Malta. Fr Rob brings the readings and a pastor’s ear for the thing underneath the question being asked.

Alyssa Agius

Alyssa Agius

Alyssa keeps the conversation grounded in ordinary life and is usually the one who says the thing everyone else was circling.

Joshua Angrisano

Joshua asks the follow-up question. He is the reason a lot of episodes end somewhere nobody planned when they sat down.
